Our Story
New Mind Counselling Center was established to provide psychotherapy and counselling services to individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, identity issues, and poor self-esteem, couples experiencing conflicts and problems, such as issues with communication, trust issues, infidelity, and family of origin issues, and high conflict families.
We work with counsellors and psychotherapists, who come from diverse backgrounds, and have different specialties that help us offer varied but complementary skills set and services to our clients in different languages (English, Farsi, Turkish, Azeri, Spanish).

Nazanin holds MA in General Psychology and has extensive training in evidence-based therapeutic approaches for a range of psychological conditions and provides Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brief Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Positive Parenting Program (Triple P Parenting), Trauma-informed Practice.

She offers therapy for individuals with a wide range of life stressors and concerns such as Depression, Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and related disorders, perfectionism, self-criticism, anger issues, interpersonal relationship issues, trauma (e.g., PTSD), life transitions and adjustments, and self-esteem. Also, she works with couples struggling with problems involving negative communication patterns, unmet emotional needs, and infidelity. Nazanin has been working in mental health for over ten years, helping adults in various Canadian and international settings such as non-for-profit organizations, private practice, and university counselling centres.
Nazanin highly values and is honoured to be part of each person’s efforts to heal and transform past distressing experiences, current life events, or situations. Her approach is client-centred in that she ensures individual plays an active role throughout their therapeutic process. She views her role as helping individuals navigate themselves through a successful change process and learn new ways to grow. Nazanin recognizes that every client has their own beliefs, cultural experiences, life histories, views, morals, values, sexual orientation, and gender identities.
She establishes the therapeutic relationship with everyone within this framework. She helps the clients to make meaning of their painful or distressing experiences, be self-compassionate, and facilitate durable change. Additionally, Nazanin has facilitated various groups and workshops for the LGBTQ community, including Anger management, Adjustment, and so on. She offers services in both English and Farsi.
